Low vs Medium vs High Pressure Coil Cleaning.

A common myth is that using using low pressure is safer and better for your Air Con, so as to avoid damaging the coil fins.

Unfortunately, low pressure washing does not push mould, dirt and grime all the way through to the rear and out of the coil, thus rendering it less efficient than before a clean as the back of the coil can become blocked.

Medium pressure hot water forces the muck all the way through and will not damage the coil.

On the other hand, using High pressure water systems, such as a Gerni or Karcher, or even a stiff brush on the front of a coil can do serious damage to the front of the coil by squashing the fins, hence rendering it less efficient.
